Sliced Beef and Egg Congee Recipe


Serves 4


Ingredients:


  • 1 cup rice

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 4 cups water

  • 4 oz beef

  • 1 spring onion

  • 1 parsley sprigs

  • 1 or 2 egg diced

  • 1 tbsp shredded ginger

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • Pepper to taste

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 ½ teaspoon light soy

  • ¾ teaspoon sugar

  • ½ teaspoon cooking wine

  • A pinch of pepper

  • 1 teaspoon cornflour


Directions:


  1. In a large pot boil the water.

  2. Add the rice, and heat for 20 minutes or until rice is softened.

  3. In a separate pan, cook the beef thoroughly

  4. Add beef and the remaining ingredients into the pot and let it cook for another 10-15 minutes. Stir well and season to taste.
